在一般程式設計 Prototype這個字對於許多程式設計師而言，代表著是「雛型」的意涵 但是在網頁設計 尤其是AJAX領域 Prototype卻是個偉大的JavaScript Framework 許多AJAX的程式基礎都是建立在Prototype之上 一年前，Prototype推出1.4版本 在網頁上僅有下載的連結，連API Documentation或Tutorial都沒有 使用者僅能買書，或仰賴強者Sergio Pereira所建立的Developer Notes for prototype來使用Prototype 一年後的今天，Prototype推出1.5版 並且換了個新首頁http://prototypejs.org/ 提供完整的API Documentation與Tutorial 這樣在AJAX的開發上，勢必有更簡便的方式來建制
